Extragalactic Novae - 2010

Much of this data comes from IAU Circulars and occasionally more data will be provided on IAU's Astronomical Headlines page. An archive of the 2010 updates to this page is available.

SNWeb is now collecting observations on extragalactic novae.   Due to the large number of Extragalactic Novae announced in 2003 I have decided to give these novae their own page. That way you don't need to hunt through the main page or the 2010 supernova archive to find them.   Announced Extragalactic Novae will have a link on the main page that points to this one.   Please note that I do not keep track of galactic novae.

  • Found in M31 at R.A. = 00h42m55.87s, Decl. = +41°15'19.6"
  • Located 130.2" east and 48.9" south of the center of NGC 224 (= M31) (Discovery image)
  • Mag 16.9, Extragalactic Nova (References: CBAT M31 page)

  • Found in M31 at R.A. = 00h42m47.73s, Decl. = +41°17'01.4"
