2002 has turned out to be an interesting year.  First 2002ap, a rare Hypernova in a Messier galaxy!  It didn't get as bright as expected (only Mag 12.3, and not 10.0 as originally predicted), but it put on a good show until going into solar conjunction.  Next we had a supprise with 2002ao which dropped from a nice bright mag 13 to mag 16 in 3 days.  A very dramatic drop for a supernova.

• 2002bo and 2002cv (2002cv only visible in IR) in NGC 3190
• 2002cr and 2002ed in NGC 5468
• 2002dv and 2002eg in UGC 11486
