Public Star Party at Northampton Park
Our fifth star party will feature plenty of deep sky objects like galaxies, gaseous nebulae, and star clusters. We may also see a few Perseid meteors as we within a day after the peak. Come on out and have a look. It's free and held specifically to give the public a chance to see through telescopes with a knowledgeable guide.
Canceled if cloudy, so stay tuned for last minute updates on this website or by calling Jim's cell phone 703-9876 within a half hour before the start time (skies often change rapidly, so it is sometimes hard to predict hours in advance!)
From Rochester, take Rt 490 West, past Rt 390, to Rt 531 West. Take that to the end, then turn right, followed by a quick left on Rt 31 West. Go 1 mile and take the first left on Hubbell Road, also the first park entrance. We'll be in the ski lodge parking lot on the right at the top of the hill. Watch for signs off Rt 31 and into the parking lot.
