Stellafane Convention
Aug 5-8, 2010
The grand daddy of U.S. astronomy gatherings held at Breezy Hill near Springfield, Vermont. Officially, it's all about telescope making. But it serves as the oldest meeting of amateur astronomers in the nation. Join more than a thousand other avid amateurs and hear talks on every aspect of making astronomical instruments, about observing, etc. There's observing through a huge variety of scopes at night if clear (and not raining!). There's a swap meet, Saturday night main speaker, door prizes, etc. Camping is crude. Visit the Stellafane web site for full details. While you're there, read about the rich history of the convention and about the birth of amateur telescope making in this country.
Black Forest Star Party
